I had also purchased AKC chicken jerky treats assuming that the AKC label meant quality. Why else does the AKC exist except to maintain the highest standards in dog breeds? It does not make a dog better, but is for a degree of comfort knowing that your dog has a traceable healty bloodline. I never gave my lab any before I noticed they were made in China. I wrote an email to them. They gave me a number to call. I called the number and got told that they would "pass the info along." Whatever that means. Since the, no replies.
I guess the consumer is the bottom line with little or no support from the very organizations that we pay subscription fees and purchase products from.

Thank you for this article. It's about time people start to find out about all of PeTA's betrayal and how they are an inferior "charity". People need to do their research before they give to anyone/anything. They assume that PeTA is the only good animal rights group out there and give tons of money to continue doing the opposite of what people think they do. All the evidence is out there, and it's probably enough to bring PeTA down to its knees begging for mercy, but people need to stop being the flock and think for themselves. We should "ethically treat" PeTA in the same way they "ethically treat" all those dogs and cats.

I have started an Occupy Animal Control-Louisiana group and we will be doing a rally/demonstration at our municipal shelter this Monday. I did a television interview today and the rally will also be televised. I'm getting grief from the more conservative No Kill advocates for using the term "Occupy" but I stand with you and stand by using it.

2 dogs supposedly confirmed with Salmonella. BUT, if they didn't do the same genotyping they did for people, well I wonder:

Never apologize for grieving. We all deal with loss on our own time, and you have every right to take the time you need to deal with your loss.

Sometimes it helps to know there are others out there also still grieving their loss as well. You might find this page helpful:

http://www.petloss.com/

It has the Rainbow Bridge poem which many people find comfort in. There are also articles there on pet loss, other poems and pieces people have written, a link to a pet loss discussion board, and a Monday night candle lighting ceremony in memory of lost pets.

Your pain will start to heal eventually. I know that doesn't seem possible right now, but I'm also sure that Ginger would want you to find a way to be happy again and eventually learn to cherish her memory and the love you shared with her.

Keeping you and Ginger in my thoughts.

I have a question regarding recall of Wellness product(s). Does the recall affect cat food, and if so, canned or kibble, and specifically what?

Hard to catch salmonella when you aren't doing any microbiological testing. Must not be part of the 151 checks system. Roll eyes. Duct tape and cardboard repairs? Can't wait to hear how Natural Balance, Costco, Canidae, etc explain not knowing that.

Is there a typo in the report? (I'm serious, not sarcastic now) Don't they mean "does NOT preclude" in observation 1?
